Privacy notice

Plain English, because this should not need a lawyer to read.

Who we are

StarGrade is a planning tool for people who run animal boarding businesses in England. It is a small independent project, run from the contact address below. If you need to reach a human, email hello@stargrade.uk

What we hold, and where it came from

We do not hold your licence number, your address, your date of birth, or anything about the animals in your care. We do not hold payment card details — those go to Stripe and never reach us.

Why we hold it

If you save your result, we hold it so we can show it back to you and so we can do the thing you paid for: tell you what to fix before your next renewal inspection, and email you before your licence expires.

If you subscribe, our lawful basis is the contract between us. If you have not subscribed, our lawful basis is your consent, given by pressing save.

We do not sell your details. We do not share them with the advertising networks, the analytics services or anyone else. We email you about your own licence and nothing else.

How long we keep it

If you save a result but never subscribe, we keep it for 12 months and then delete it. If you subscribe, we keep it for as long as you are subscribed, and for 6 months afterwards in case you come back.

How to get rid of it

Email hello@stargrade.uk and ask us to delete it. We will do it within 30 days and we will confirm that we have. There is nothing to log out of and nothing to cancel.

Cookies

We set no tracking cookies and there is no analytics script on this site. The only thing we store in your browser is your email address, so that if you come back the site knows who you are, and it never leaves your browser without you pressing save.

If you emailed us because a council sent you here

Your council told you about this tool; we did not get your details from them and we did not buy a list. If you arrived through an email we sent, we hold your address because you asked us to keep in touch, and every one of those emails tells you how to stop.

Complaints

If you think we have got this wrong, email hello@stargrade.uk first. If you would rather go to the Information Commissioner's Office, that is your right and we will not make it difficult.
